Rox In His Head
©2009 Words and Music - Ian Fraser
From the first, Roxanne's beauty overwhelmed him,
He loved her eyes but they didn't really see him;
Roxanne's empty stare was focussed on some distant planet
Roxanne was train wreck waiting to happen.
He's got Rox in his head, She's gonna stone his heart,
He was swept up in her landslide, And his wants are getting boulder,
He's just a pebble on her beach, He's nothing concrete on her block,
She'll grind his love into gravel - he's caught
Between a hard place and Rox.
They went together but it was heartache in motion
She was a nightmare of unreturned devotion
The words he spoke were a one-way conversation
Getting nowhere fast an exercise in frustration.
He's got Rox in his head, She's gonna stone his heart,
He was swept up in her landslide, And his wants are getting boulder,
He's just a pebble on her beach, He's nothing concrete on her block,
She'll grind his love into gravel - he's caught
'tween a hard place and Rox.
Roxanne put him down like an unwanted puppy
His affection didn't matter though he gave it blindly,
She exited his life without a hint of sorrow
Left him to his world bleeding from Cupid's arrow.
He had Rox in his head, She went and stoned his heart,
He was swept up in her landslide, And his wants were getting boulder,
He's just a pebble on her beach, He's nothing concrete on her block,
She ground his love into gravel - he got caught -
'tween a hard place and Rox.
He's just a pebble on her beach, He's nothing concrete on her block,
She ground his love into gravel - he got caught -
'tween a hard place and Rox.
