Those who are unable to use accented characters with Telix for DOS
may wish to try the following:

1. Download /computer/dos/comm/xlate.zip from the PDA.
2. Unzip telixin.xlt and telixout.xlt into your Telix directory.
3. Run Telix as normal and you should be able to see the accented
   characters at ">go accents".

I tried this with Telix 3.51 from the PDA and it does work. If anyone
else has success with this or has any questions, please let me know.

Note:
If your PC is using the hardware character set (CP437) you won't
be able to use all the ISO-Latin-1 characters, but only those that
were visible using the CP437 online character filter.

In order to use all the ISO-Latin-1 characters, you can either use
the above method plus CP850 or use CP819 without doing any of the
above.

Bravo Howard!  Got it on my Telix, I can now read French newsgroups
complete with accents.  Wrote a test message to myself containing
accents using Telix and could read it on my netscape mail browser
without any hitches.

P.S. I would suggest that, before extraction, Telix users save the
original telixin.xlt and telixout.xlt under different names (such as
telixin/out.ori) so as to be able to retrieve them again should the need
arise.

Ceux qui sont incapable d'utiliser les caractères accentués avec

Afin d'utiliser tous les caractères ISO-Latin-1, vous pouvez soit
utiliser la méthode précitée ainsi que les caractères CP850 ou
