Working Class History
Students of working class history should be interested in these two non-fiction books about Hull, Quebec. One book deals with the history of the working class in Hull, a well-known working class commmunity near Ottawa, Canada's capital. It's entitled Working Class Culture. The book is accompanied by useful maps and pages from the 1872 directory of Hull residents and their occupations. A second book, The Red Patch, deals with the WWII repression of Canadian communists, 89 of whom were interned in the prison in Hull.
