Venice
When we look at these photos we automatically recall the sounds, the smells, the feel of the air, our energy and our fatigue. We recall our expectations and the surprises that met us at every turn.
It is impossible to convey through photos how the ground felt beneath our feet, or the motion of a gondola or the sound of the vaporetto, or even the quiet pleasure of sitting at a table outside a caffe and simply watching.
It is impossible to convey our longing for all of the things that we miss.
