Some views stay with you. Above is the view from the bridge near the Accademia looking toward Santa Maria di Salute and the Dogana - beautiful even on this cloudy morning.

The photo to the right is one of those scenes that just stop you in your tracks. The canal's mirror-like surface confuses the senses with that blending of water and architecture which is Venice.

I think you are only likely to see a scene like this on the smaller canals in residential areas. The larger canals seem to always be busy, always in motion.

The slight haze may have been caused by ash from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano.
