Venice
A remarkably quiet moment one evening on the Grand Canal. Usually the canal is filled with waterbuses, taxis, workboats, private boats, and other gondolas. It's amazing that so many craft can occupy the same area and yet never collide. That nearly constant bustle was one of the things I missed when we arrived back home.
A scene toward the western end of the island. Away from the Grand Canal and the myriad smaller canals, these little boats have much larger craft to contend with. Along with all of the types of boats you would see on the Grand Canal, you will also see cruise ships, ferrys, and barges.
