There are many more creatures on the Flamingo's grounds. The lion at the MGM was taking a break from playing like an oversized kitten with a ball. If you are worried about the lion's living conditions, they have a large and varied area out of site of the public.
Proximity sensors near the elephant and other animatronic animals at the MGM (including a giant python hanging from a tree) caused them to respond to the presence of people.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get a decent photograph of any of the many aquariums in the hotels. There was quite a variety of exotic fish to be seen - including sharks.
