Leaving London

Between trains, business, Waterloo Station.
Denise's choice of Bloomsbury proved to be an ideal location from which to explore London. So much of interest was within easy reach - either walking or by the amazing London transport system.

It would have been nice to stay, to carry on exploring, but we had our train tickets and our hotel room was waiting for us in Oxford and it was time to leave. We had a last look around, packed our suitcases, backed up our photos to the iPad, and headed for the train station.

And we can always come back.

We were looking forward to Oxford but had no idea how strongly it would affect us. I hope the next few sets of photos will explain why we fell in love with it.

.....

See you in Oxford!

Denise meets her (exhibitionist) namesake. So she gets excited about a naked man carrying grapes ("Take my picture! Take my picture!") does she? hmm... Valentine's Day is coming up...

Monument to Samuel Johnson's favourite cat. Hodge is sitting on the great dictionary.

Victorian chimneys. Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn.

Balcony supports on a building opposite The Royal Courts of Justice, Fleet Street. Doors to the Outer Temple Chambers and Lloyd's TSB flank a main door with a sculpture of a beehive above it. I haven't been able to find anything else about the building. Yet.
