The High Altar, St. James' Church.

Well, here we are in the Church of Saint James, built on the site of a hostel for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. Imagine what it's like to be here. Try to imagine absorbing as much as you can of what you are seeing - knowing this may be the last time you will have the opportunity to see it.

Just look at the photographs. Look at all that 'stuff' to be found everywhere we turned. We are cold, wet (yes, it's been one of those days), hungry and tired - and having the time of our lives and can't stop looking and exploring.

But stop we must. We take a final walk around, we pay one more visit to Rubens' private chapel and grave, and then we set out for the train station. The Belgian trains ride so smoothly and are warm and comfortable and I will fall asleep on the way back to Brussels.

And we will start all over again tomorrow. Can't wait!
