At the beginning of the game, the adventurers moved in two groups towards the barriers, in an attempt to overrun or outlfank the Ibixians and get to the boat as soon as possible. Unfortunately for Sean and the adventurers, Chris' skeleton wolves, on patrol around the outskirts of the beach front, spotted the approaching group and gave notice to the Ibixians who were trying to get the tribute onto the boat. As the adventurers moved in, the skeleton wolves went out into the woods, trying to outflank Sean's forces. At first, Sean took the bait, and started focussing on the skeleton wolves, eating up valuable time trying to shoot the skeleton wolves with his arrows, all the while the Ibixians continued to get the boat ready for departure. Things were looking good for Chris... Realizing time was not on their side, most of the Adventurers resumed their way to the beach, while Lord Farquad and the half orc archer remained in the woods, in an attempt to eliminate the flank attack threat from the skeleton wolves. The Ibixians meanwhile, tried to get some of them in position near the barrier entrances along the beach front, in hopes of stalling any advance long enough for the boat to get away, while the remainder continued loading the boat with tribute. As the Adventurers made their way slowly to the barriers, both Sean and Chris felt like time would be on the Ibixian's side... Boy, would things sure change! Sean sent Leela and the Gulgar towards the right side of the barriers towards the beach, coming into contact with 2 awaiting Ibixians. At first the Ibixians were able to hold up the Gulgar and Leela for 2 turns, but with the continued abuse from the Gulgar's warhammer and Leela's spell casting, one of the Ibixians fell to a burning pummelled crisp into the sand, exposing an opening and allowing the Gulgar to make a dash for the boat, with the other wounded Ibixian chasing close behind. The Kenku sneak did what he does best, and sneaked his way along the beach front to the far left barrier, and attempted to reach the boat that way. While all this was happening, the skeleton wolves, supported by a rampaging Ibixian from the beach front, circled in on the half orc archer and Lord Farquad. Melee ensued, and within a couple of turns, the Adventurers had taken down their foes, leaving Farquad to run to the beach front to support the Kenku sneak, who had just turned behind one of the barriers, and into an Ibixian ambush. With just 1 turn needed to close the ramp and set the boat off for Tarmin Island, the Gulgar made it to the ramp, where he took on an Ibixian guard and the other chasing behind him. Soon Leela arrived, and it didn't take long for the guard and the previously injured Ibixian who had been chasing the Gulgar, to fall dead before the Adventurers' feet. After this, Chris knew the game had been lost and conceded defeat, letting Sean and the Adventurers to save the day for the poor locals, and denying the Minotaurs of Tarmin Island their much anticipated booty! All in all, this was a great and fast paced scenario. It only took about 3 hours to play, and could easily be done in 2.
