Information taken from an
email from Pat MONTREUIL to Robert DENIS
- <From an email dated 2009.07.27>
- My first husband, Craig Steven Bacharach, was born 25 October,
1949,
- We left Montreal together for a 2 week visit to Arizona in Oct.
1970
- His parents lived in Sun City, AZ.
- and he had gone to college in Flagstaff AZ
- there were lots of old friends still here. (So much for the 2
weeks!!)
- His parents were Richard and Maxine Bacharach
- I don't know his mother's maiden name.
- Both are now deceased, but I don't remember when that was
- He has 1 brother, Howard,
- and with wife, Linda, they have 1 daughter, Becky and 1 son, Brian.
- They're both younger than Aaron (my son)
- Craig and I were married 20 October, 1972.
- Aaron Montreuil Bacharach was born to us 21 April, 1974.
- Craig and I were divorced 20 May, 1984
- so he could marry Suzie Langton
- (married name and last name of her daughter, Amelia, younger than
Aaron.)
- Pauline, David and I went to the wedding, but I don't remember the
date
- Craig and Suzie didn't have any kids together
- Aaron, at 35 years old, has never been married
- and has no kids
- (As his mother, there was only one of his girlfriends
- I deemed fit to be the mother of my grandkids.
- They split up after 6 years
- 'cause she wanted kids and he didn't.)
- My second husband Ron ROSS was born 27 October 1954 - Ronald Lee
Ross.
- His father was Leroy Lewis Ross, who died around 1993 or so
- His mother was Eudene Maudie Hook, who died in 1999.
- His first wife was Debbie G. Elder-
- She died around 2005.
- They were married 29 Dec. 1973 in Arkansas.
- They were divorced around 1977- no kids
- His second wife was Shirley A. Bates
- that's her previously married name
- and the last name of her son, Cody, born Aug. 1976
- Cody & wife, Christina, have 2 daughters
- Naomi and Emme Bates
- Ron and Shirley have a daughter
- Kelly, born 30 April, (1981?)
- She married David Schuerch,
- who had 2 sons from a previous marriage
- Alex & Johnny
- Kelly & David have 2 daughters,
- Alyssa and Hanna.
- Ron & Shirley were married sometime
between 1978 & 1980
- either in Arkansas or Oklahoma,
- and divorced sometime around 1992
- Ron served with the US Air Force, 3 April 1975 to 23 August,
1978
- As a civilian, he was a master cabinetmaker.
- On 8 July 1999, he suffered 3 major strokes within 1/2
hour,
- but didn't get to a hospital until the next day,
- so the damage was pretty permanent
- It paralyzed his right side, (he was right-handed),
- and severely affected his speech
- I (Pat Montreuil ) met Ron in early October, 1999,
- just after he was released from the VA Hospital
- They told him he'd be lucky to live 'til his birthday,
- and that they, (the doctors), would be surprised if he saw the
year 2000.
- I helped him get an apartment in Cottonwood,
- and then pretty much lived with him
- since he needed so much help with the basics.
- We ended up (in 3 years) having 3 different apartments,
- when he decided he wanted a house.(To buy.)
- He had the income (VA and Social Security Disability pensions)
- but terrible credit since his divorce,
- I had excellent credit,
- but a lousy income- working part-time for years
- So we got married so he could have his house,
- and because he really needed me.
- I loved him dearly, but I don't think it was mutual.
- Knowing that, we married anyway
- I didn't have anything else going on in my life
- I still had my little house (since 1971) near Jerome,
- and David conveniently needed a cheap place to live
- so he took over my little house
- So- we bought a beautiful new house
- with no stairs and wide doorways for the wheelchair
- and no lawn to mow (desert landscaping)
- Our wedding was 30 May, 2002
- and we moved into our new house 27 August, 2002.
- His condition worsened after another stroke in February, 2006
- and a CAT scan revealed Periventricular White Matter Disease,
- which causes symptoms identical to Alzheimer's Disease.
- I think that was what really got him so depressed-
- when he couldn't form whole thoughts any more
- Keep in mind that by the end,
- it had been 9 1/2 years without talking much
- or walking well or running at all or working
- 9 years more than the doctors had predicted!
- I must have been doing something right!
- Until he died, that is... 10 February, 2009.
