  • Hi Robert,

I am wondering if you are away, as I can't reach you on skype or phone! Anyhow, here is some information on geneology:

  • Our daughter's name is Suzanne Jane (though we call her Suzi) Holger's brother (Baumgartner) isn't Alex but AXEL.

  • Hilda Brodeur changed her first name to Concorde (maybe a note..?)

Bella Brodeur had a first marriage to a Mr. Pflasterer. (I might have details in Austria, also might have the phone nr of her grandson.)

There was one child: Louise Pflasterer, who married Harold Lasky.

They lived in New City, New York and we visited them when Peter-Patrick was tiny, about 15 months.

Louise was an artist, very gifted with crafts, had a doll hospital etc.

Harold was in publishing in NY City. I am not absolutely sure that Harold was her first husband, but when/if I reach the son, Rick, I will let you know.

It is on my list of things to do.

I stayed in contact with Louise, as did my mother and when she died, I was notified and called her son Rick (lived in Ohio, I think) and reached him on his cell phone in the middle of coaching a basketball game.

He never called me back. I never met him, but found his parents very very nice.

There was something about him dodging the draft that upset his parents.

He does though have a wife and kids.... I'll let you know.

  • Alice Brodeur?? died?? married??

  • Adrian married twice. His second wife Sarah is still alive, aged 103.

They had three children, first Paul Adrian,

    second, David (living in Massachusetts)

and third Valjeanne who is in Switzerland and whom I visited a few years ago. She knew Paul Montreuil.

From his first marriage there was also a son, named also Paul Adrian or Adrian Paul and this caused the second so named son (an author in the US alive today, divorced and with 3 kids) great grief.

His book about this called Secrets, I have here!

I will also call Valjeanne in Switzerland when I get back to give you more details.

Neither Valjeanne nor David had children.

V was married and divorced and I don't know about David.

  • There was Herminie Brodeur ??

  • Then, for sure Camille Brodeur had family and Valjeanne can tell me more. OK

  • - - - - - - -

  • On the Joubert side.

  • Alma Joubert was my father's mother.

    She had siblings.
  • The parents were Zephirain Joubert and Augusta Bradshaw Perrault

  • I can't tell you the exact order of the kids, but I think this is right.

Alexine was here this week, helping me on this!

So. children of Zeph and Augusta Lorette - - - - - Alma Rodolphe Joubert Olivain Joubert

There may have been more, and I will look in Innsbruck because Maxime (son of Rodolphe) gave me a paper on the family and I will look it all up.

  • So: Rodolphe Joubert married Mathilde Passbois (of Paris) in 1916

Rodolphe was born 1891, died february 1986 (within a month of my father Walter, but another generation) at age 95.

    I knew him.

He was an intellectual and wrote a massive book on Edward Monpetit.

Mathilde lived to be 83 and was born in 1894.

Their only son, only child, Maxime was an engineer like my father.

They were first cousins and good friends, though not the same age. Maxime was born Sept 16, 1918 and died on my birthday Feb. 17 2002.

He had married a Dutch Countess, (now 85, living in Beaconsfield, still riding her horse!) called Henriette van Pallandt.

She was born 22 June, 1922.

    They married May 1, 1947.

Their two children are Willem and Constance Alexine Willem Joubert was born Oct 8, 1949, married 1982 Marie-Claire Oset from France. (born March 4,1949 I think)

They have two children Guillaume André Joubert, born May 1 1984

    and Marie-Astrid Joubert born June 18, 1987.

Alexine was born October 20 1952. She never married and we are friends!

so, That is it for now.

Lots of holes but lots of info too. I know what I have to do!!!! Call Rick in the States, call Valjeanne in Switzerland and drill Hetta when I see her in September about her aristocratic ancestors! She paints and has many paintings of the castle that belonged to her family but now it has gone to the state. It is in Arnhem in Holland. Bonne nuit, Robert, lots lof love, Sylvia
