- Almost died of the dreaded Spanish Flu in 1918.
- Her parents, brother and sisters all said their final
"goodbye's" one evening
- because all were convinced she would not survive the night.
She did survive and told the story afterward that after recovering,
her previously straight hair was blessed
with a natural curl for the rest of her life!
- Kept a "family scrap book"
which is the source of much information in this data base
