About the artist

Denis Wall's career as a consultant, and specialist in Alberta Metis history (see The Alberta Metis Letters - he received the first Ph.D. in Intercultural Education from the University of Alberta in 1987), has been intertwined with professional photography, video and multi-media:

• Represented in NewWest Review, Alberta Views.

• Photographer for the School of Architecture, University of Waterloo.

• Diploma in Film, Conestoga College.

• Exhibitions at a variety of major venues: Royal Alberta Museum; Edmonton City Hall; Edmonton Public Library; The Off Centre Centre, Calgary; Gallery 165, Gatineau; Profiles Gallery, St. Albert; various group shows in Eastend SK.; and others.

• Producer of various (some quirky) videos for an art co-op at the Unviersity of Guelph, the Alberta Government, and through DWRG Press. E.g. "The Face on the Bar Room Floor", a film with David Parry or this very interesting one.

• Residencies at the Banff Centre twice as photographer, twice as writer; at the George Ryga (Art) Centre, Summerland, BC; and at Stegner House, Eastend, SK.

• Numerous photo-based projects.
