NWT: Exploring Yellowknife and heading home

Bird of the Day

Common Merganser

We had an early morning flight, so did not expect breakfast. But, Christine had prepared ahead her signature crepes for us - all we had to do was to heat them in the oven while we were getting ready. What a hostess!

Alex picked us up right on time and got us to the airport to catch our flight to Yellowknife. As we had several hours in Yellowknife we took a taxi into the picturesque "old town" and hiked about, enjoying the views and the colourful houseboats. Barbara dipped her hand in Great Slave Lake...

We crossed town to drop in at the Visitor Centre and to tour the impressive Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre:

It was a perfect ending to our visit to the NWT...
