We started out on our quest to discover the landscape, waterways
and spirit of the Northwest Territories. After our long flights
Ottawa-Calgary-Edmonton-Yellowknife... we were happy to have a
few hours break in Yellowknife before a short flight to our
destination, Fort Smith. Luckily there was a large park with a
lake and trails to introduce us to the NWT.

A short Northwestern Air flight completed our trip. Soon we were
looking down at Fort Smith.
Our Canoe Arctic guide, Alex Hall, met us at the airport. www.canoearctic.com
We hopped in Alex's truck for a quick tour of the town and then
arrived at our B&B: Whooping Crane Guest House http://www.whoopingcraneguesthouse.com/
We had an amazing suite in the cozy log home of Christine and
Donald Aubrey. Lots of room for our packs and a comfortable bed
for a good rest.
