Kelowna, Vernon and Sugar Lake, BC

July 16-23, 2017

We travelled to Kelowna to help celebrate Cathy's 60th birthday. We also went to their cabin at Sugar Lake, and birded around Swan Lake in Vernon. What follows is the bird photos that we made on the trip.

 

Kelowna

We birded in Cathy and Bruce's backyard at the foot of Knox Mountain, the waterfront at City Park, and at Mission Creek Regional Park. Here are the species we found:

 

Sugar Lake

We drove to the cabin at Sugar Lake. We birded along the road in front of the cabin, on the lakeshore, at the dam on the outlet, and while canoeing and pontoon boating on beautiful Sugar Lake. On Cathy's birthday, we went on an amazing hike to Spectrum Lake in Monashee Provincial Park. Here are the species we found:

 

Vernon

While Cathy and Bruce returned to town to pick up Rick, we took the other car and drove to Vernon. We studied all the possibilities and finally settled on Swan Lake. It urned out to be a good choice. We also dropped in on birding friends Andy and Marilyn for tea. Here are the species we found:
