The Croatian people have a long history of conflict. Croatia's current borders were confirmed in 1995.

Today Croatia is a boomerang shaped country bordering the Adriatic Sea, home to 4.3 million Croats. It is bordered by Slovenia and Hungary on the north, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina on the east, and Montenegro on the south. All but Hungary were part of the former Yugoslavia.
