Alaska Cruise

We explore Glacier Bay
Day 5 May 18, 2014

Today some park rangers arrived by boat to lead us on a tour of the stunning Glacier Bay.

It was a chilly morning so we bundled up to enjoy the scenery. Hot Dutch pea soup on deck warmed us.

The glaciers were impressive and we got some good views of “calving”.

A sea otter swam by. Some sea lions were relaxing on an iceberg. Soon it was time for the rangers to leave… We enjoyed a talk about Alaska Native culture.

We checked out the Royal Dutch “high tea” but decided not wait in line…

Soon it was time to dress for a second formal dinner. Excellent service and food.

Bill’s special bird sightings today

1. Black-legged Kittiwake
2. White-wnged Scoter
3. Tuffted Puffin
