Alaska Cruise

Our trip up the Inside Passage
Day 2 May 15, 2014

We headed north from Vancouver Island and sailed up the Inside Passage toward Juneau.

Barbara started every morning with a hike around the Promenade Deck as the sun rose. 3.5 loops = 1 mile. Cathy joined her today.

We soon got spoiled by a delicious breakfast served in the dining room. Great eggs Benedict!

This morning we decided to go to a cooking class – Dungeness crab cakes with Thai sweet chilli sauce and marinated cucumbers; cedar planked salmon in an Asian-style marinade with pickled ginger and watercress salad. We learned a lot!

Back to the deck to check out the unfolding mountainous scenery.

An Alaskan beer tasting seminar and sampling was fun for us all. Cute glasses!

Another scenery check revealed spectacular snow-capped mountains.

Tonight was a special formal dinner. Big smiles!

Bill’s special bird sightings today

1. Mixed flock of ducks
2. Red Phalarope
