Subject: a new way of talking - U-ccan- chat!

Greetings to all!
Yesterday, with a bit of sleuthing, and a lot of help (todd smaridge, spencer ramshaw, yahoo, david shearman, lawson stone), I found a "free" mail list server. What does that mean, you ask?

A mail list server is a service to which you can "subscribe" Once you have subscribed you can write notes to one address, (uccanchat@coollist.com) and your notes will be automatically passed on to all other subscribers. All the notes they write to the mailing list will be passed on to you. The key is that the mailing list ( and to a lesser extent yours truly) does all the work of keeping a list of people who are interested in the topic.

How do you subscribe?

There are three ways:
1. Visit my web site: www3.sympatico.ca/brian.wilkie/. On the "All that Religion stuff" page there are instructions. Just by providing your e-mail address and clicking the subscribe button, you're in.
2. or, visit www.coollist.com. On their home page (near the bottom) there is a place to subscribe to a group. Type "UCCANCHAT" as the list name, and your email address in the other box.
3. send me a note telling me you want in. I can manually add you to the list. This is the only option for those who don't have access to the world wide web. Please use this option _only_ if you can not do it the other ways.

Unsubscribing : you can leave the group at any time send a blank email to unsubscribe@coollist.com for further instructions, or write me and I will remove you from the list as soon as I can.

What does "free" mean?
A wise man once said "there is no such thing as a free lunch" coollist.com provides this service for free, in exchange for the right to attach a three line advertisement to the bottom of each note. But that is the only cost.

Finally, I would encourage you to subscribe if you think that this conversation we've been having- encouraging one another, learning from one another, and remembering Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, in the light of the need of our church to reaffirm its faith in the Gospel of the Saviour of the world.

I will look for you on the mailing list, hoping that this service will benefit us all, and benefit our mutual service of Christ.

Brian, least servant of the servants of God.
