Rather than repair or replace the engine, I decided to offer the car for sale for the value of its parts. The starter motor was also unserviceable. However, if you were to repair the engine, you would have a car with a drive-clean certificate dated 5 Feb 2003.

The car would have to be towed from its current location at Barrhaven Canadian Tire (Greenbank & Strandherd), Ottawa. Alternatively Canadian Tire would replace the engine for you. I suspect the price would be around $2,000.

I received no offers, so I left the car with Canadian Tire for disposal to the wreckers yard where I had obtained the parts the previous year.
