Carol Zachar Room
Carol Zachar writes: "Art has always held a fascination for me in all of its forms.
In my mid-fifties I decided to act upon this feeling, and enrolled in visual arts studies.
Attendance at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate for adult studies with Saulius Jaskus as my teacher was a wonderful experience.
Oil and watercolour painting, pastel, sculpture and printmaking opened doors to this world for me. Printmaking has
become my vehicle of expression. I am a member of the Etobicoke Art Group, and the Humber Valley Art Club.
Neilson Creative Centre in Etobicoke is the venue where these groups meet and participate in classes.
My work is displayed in Humber Valley United Church and has been shown in juried and group shows since 1990.
In 1991 I was awarded an honourable mention for Sorrow's Hope (displayed in this gallery)."
Carol is the mother of Laurie-Ann
Zachar Copple, also featured in the KanArt Gallery.
