1.1 Hurrican IKE in Havana

The author travels to Havana at the time the hurricane enters Cuba; he describes the reaction of its people and how the natural phenomenon affects its stability. December 2009.

1.2 Translator's Opportunities, Tropicoco.

A translator in Ottawa takes a vacation in Havana and accidentally meets the ex-girl friend of one of his customers, for whom he has written answers to the girl's letters in Spanish. That encounter shows him the power of writing and changes for the better his vacation. March 2006.

1.3 Goyo, a Cuban boy, his third week in Ottawa

A nine year old Havana boy arrives in Ottawa to join his mother who, during an official visit to Ottawa, decides to flee and remain in Canada asking for refugee status. May 2005.

2.1 Nudist for convenience

Don Rafael Caballero, an elderly gentleman living in Ottawa, keeps sexual activity, but endures an unexpected ordeal, a torture, as a result of a penile implant surgery; he finds, after almost two years, a temporary relief for his suffering. April 2009.

2.2 The end of a friendship

The author accepts a friend's invitation to visit Roatan Island (Honduras) in the Caribbean; after two weeks in his house, the friend uncovers his real personality, thus the relation changes. June 2008.

2.3 My great-grandaunts

Compilation of some memories about the author's family members in Colombia, back in the 20th century (50's and 60's). February 2008.

2.4 Bank fraud suspect

In Ottawa, the author becomes suspect of a fraud following the deposit of a cheque coming from an international company, he has known over the Internet, and agreed to work for. July 2007.

2.5 Bird operation

The author's experiences trying to sell a defensive weapon - pilot less aircraft (drones) - to the government of Colombia, 1991. At the time guerilla's terrorists attacks were ravaging the country. August 2006.
