The late John FRENCH was buried yesterday with masonic honors. The funeral took place from his residence on Winter Street. At the house a short service was conducted by Rev. Fullerton. The pall bearers were Henry DUFFELL, J.S. NICKERSON, S.T. STRONG, J.H. PULLEN, G.A. KILNAPP and P. CAMPBELL. (see original for funeral cortege)

The death occurred yesterday of John FRENCH, section foreman of the I.C.R. after a lengthy illness. Mr. French was an old and valued employee of the road. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon 2:30 o'clock. Deceased was a prominent mason and notices have been published to notify the Encampment of St. John, Hibernia, New Brunswick and the Union lodge of Portland to meet at the Masonic Temple for the purpose of attending the funeral. The band of the 62nd Fusiliers will head the procession.
