Gidday 'eh!

Yep, from the Ottawa Valley.

Right, other interests. Well, lately, I've been watching more anime (Japanese animation) than could be healthy for me, and I'm semi-active in several local clubs. Currently, though, I'm involved with the Society for Ottawa Anime Promotion, or SOAP. SOAP's function is to help coordinate the other Ottawa area anime clubs, and to promote not only anime, but the local clubs and good hygiene. The SOAP homepage has more details, but events include organizing trips to Anime North, anime-themed dances, and marathons.

When not watching anime, I'm involved in a couple of role-playing groups, plus the RPGA. The local RPGA group, the OSQUIPS tries to run games every third week of the month. My characters wanted a page, and since they outnumber me (and have weapons, usually sharp and pointy ones), they got their way.

I'm also owned by three cats. Unfortunately, I don't have the space to put up pictures of them here. The oldest, Pookie, is a cute little girl, 11 years old, and is afraid of people. I think she was abused as a kitten. She has the perfect life right now - she gets food and a comfortable place to sleep, and she doesn't have to deal with me at all. Pookie is a tabby, with a white chest and belly, and orange with tiger stripes on her back.

Sam, also 11 but a few months younger than Pookie, is the opposite. He is very dependant for a cat, and loves being cuddled. The poor guy was diagnosed with chronic ginginvitis last year, and now has to eat a special diet and go for regular teeth cleanings and gold salt shots. The cortizone injections stopped being effective. Worse - on July 22, he was diagnosed with diabetes, probably caused by the cotizone. The vet believes there's a chance the diabetes is temporary, or at least can go into remission as the cortizone is flushed from Sam's system. Sam is a longhaired cat, and is silver with streaks of white on his face.

Tuxedo Neko is the youngest, at a little over a year old. It's hard to believe he used to be small - he's now the biggest of the three. He loves Sam's catfood - it's so fun for him to chase around the kitchen. Tux is (obviously) a black and white cat, and just needs a bow tie to go with his tuxedo colouring.

Hmm... Just realized I never mentioned any music interests. "Weird Al" Yankovic has just released his latest album, Running With Scissors, and came to Ottawa on October 23rd, 1999!!!
