Subject: Tinkering with dates in anagramsFinding dates in cryptic anagrams is quite a messy process. For the past, knowledge of these dates surely helps, although one does not know beforehand how Nostradamus did actually write them; some use Roman numerals, others a mix of Roman numbers and full letters, and some full letters only. Fortunately, when using Roman numerals, Nostradamus did not use cryptic anagrams but true anagrams, thus making these dates easier to find.

But for future dates, the process is much more hazardous. If you have only one quatrain speaking of a future event, you are dead in the waters. If you did it right, good; if you messed up, that's it, you messed up.
So, for future events, the best situation is to have more than one quatrain giving that date, so that you can check which of the possible dates fits all quatrains. Does this solve the problem? No way, José. Many quatrains may give the wrong date, if the letters available allow for more than one future date to fit. This is what happened to the Aegean Sea event of March 11, 2012, as March 11, 2002 also did fit. In that case, an undated clue, a very dead Boris Yeltsin, could have been used to sort things out. It was not.
Another event of our future was found in cryptic anagrams back in 1995, 1996. The event itself has been described clearly enough to give a place (five cities in Southern France), and a few specifics: a kamikaze attack, perhaps from the air, involving the dropping of deadly plutonium powder upon these cities.
The reason for the attack appears to be revenge against the US. For what? Perhaps for having killed Ben Laden, or for having prevented the establishment of an Arab Palestine. The exact date of the attack? So far unknown, given the small number of quatrains dealing with this future event; only a year seems to fit these deciphered texts: 2017.
The five quatrains apparently dealing with this future event follow (to the left), together with their deciphered version (to the right):
|
The only city of the five identified both in the original poem and in the deciphered prose is Nice. Others are around Antibes and Fréjus, which does not mean that these two are included. They might be. The only reference to Monaco (Monech) is not repeated in the deciphered text.
As this rather small number of quatrains (compared to the hundreds speaking of the unintended destruction of Paris) does not allow for a high degree of certainty with respect to this alleged event, one ought not give the same credence to it as that which the Paris event deserves.
Have a nice day, folks!
