Description: This set of 3 movies is about vectors and how to add them: in particular, it shows vector components, geometrical addition, commutative law of addition , resultant vector and equilibrant vector.
Images from first and third animations
1) The first movie shows a rotating vector with its x and y components.
2) The second movie shows 3 vectors drawn to scale in a head-to-tail fashion to find their resultant vector (polygon method). Next, the order is changed to show the commutative law of addition.
3) The third movie
is a sequel to the second movie: the resultant vector
rotates 180° and becomes the equilibrant vector.
