Refraction of light

Product Code: OPT0009

Price: 4 USD (Order Form)

Files: Three 576 X 288 pixels movies.  Each movie is provided in AVI and Quicktime format.
.
Description:  When a ray of light reach the boundary between two different substances, some light is reflected, and some light is refracted. The semi-cylindrical piece of glass has a higher index of refraction than air.

In the first animation (shown at right as a reduced size demo), light travels from air to glass; incident ray, refracted ray and reflected ray are shown.  The second movie is identical to the first, except the reflected ray is not shown.  In the third movie, light travels from glass to air; there is total internal reflection when the angle of incidence exceed the critical angle.
