Description: These movies show electric current running in a simple circuit (consisting of a voltage source and a resistor). Moving negative charges and stationary positive charges are shown. An arrow shows the conventional direction of current (opposite to the direction of motion of negative charges). The first movie shows a direct current running clockwise, the second movie shows a direct current running counterclockwise, and the third movie shows alternative current.
