Description:  This set of 3 movies shows a diffraction pattern (light intensity vs position on the screen) for single-slit Fraunhofer diffraction, and interference pattern for Young's double slit experiment. 

First animation: Single-slit Fraunhofer diffraction;   width of the slit (a) increases, then decreases.  

Second animation: Interference pattern (Young double-slit experiment), width of the slit (a) increases, then decreases.

Third animation: Interference pattern (Young double-slit experiment), distance between slits (d) increases, then decreases.
