Donna warbled around. Enter Michael bearing a luncheon invitation for Marley and Victoria.
Victoria asked Jake to lunch with her and Michael.
Catlin told MJ Cass could be anywhere.
Cass [bound and gagged] started thrashing around in the box. Once out his captors removed his gag and commenced taking off his clothes.
Michael doesn't like to see Victoria upsetting Marley and he wants to straighten things out. Donna praised his paternal tendencies. Enter Marley. Michael asked her to lunch.
Victoria deliberately neglected to mention that Marley would be there. Jake told her to leave him alone. She advised him to try to get Michael to finance his great ideas. He accused her of being up to something. She told him Michael was mad at her for trying to screw up his relationship with Marley and wanted them to be one big happy family. She talked him around. Exit Jake. Enter Nancy. Vic let on it was a lunch Date and suggested they not tell Marley.
MJ thinks Cass was abducted by the Syndicate. Catlin asked who else it could be.
Cass insisted there must have been a mistake. Those large men disagreed. They invited him not to make conversation.
Marley and Michael waited for Victoria. Marley admitted that although Victoria could be rotten she didn't blame her entirely. She's not about to let her get away with too much however. Exit Marley. Enter Victoria with Jake in tow. When he heard that Marley was coming he began to look like a hunted animal and never really left off. Enter Marley. Jake got upset with Victoria. Michael said he was always welcome with him. He refused to let Jake straighten Victoria out and suggested he tell the whole story. Marley and Jake feel they handled the whole thing badly. Enter Mr. Josephson, the man who fired Jake. Marley and Michael objected to having even such a vile man as this being horribly mutilated and Marley approached him herself.
Nancy feels hard done by. Ada yelled at Rachel for sending Quinn over. Rachel offered her sympathies to Vince.
Cass isn't having much fun.
Rachel told Nancy Chris was very busy and suggested she wish him luck with his appeal. Nancy thinks her future is hopeless.
Marley pled with Mr. Josephson and assured him that Jake was a pillar of the community. He was charmed but even when Michael added his testimonial he said the position had been filled. He begged forgiveness and called Marley brave. Michael was impressed. Victoria toasted her perfect sister.
Zane told the police the two strange women had been wearing the same brooch. A star in a crescent moon.
There is a similar decoration on the Casscrate. Cass posed 2 questions for those men: "who are you?" and "what are you doing shaving me?" they denied all knowledge of Tony the Tuna [sorry, Charlie]. It's a straight razor. Phrases like "slit your throat" were bandied about.
Jake seethed. Marley tried to calm him down. He's mad that Vic egged him on to bash his boss. He said he was afraid he was too much like Victoria. She told him he wasn't and things couldn't be perfect but she loved him. Enter Michael. He said he liked Marley's style and offered her a job. She asked Jake if she should take it. He looked unthrilled but told her to go ahead. Victoria was quietly sick in the hall and refused to tell Donna what about. Michael broke it up. Vic fled with her parents in pursuit. Jake denied wanting a job from Michael. He assured Marley that Victoria would not come between them.
Neal caught up with Victoria in Smiley's. He failed to thrill. He demanded restitution for helping her.
MJ decided that there was a plot afoot.
Donna demanded an explanation from Michael. He regrets not having made more of Victoria at lunch. He said she was like her mother. She described horrible Lassiter to him and said she was more like her father.
Neal asked Victoria out for fun and games. Dress to kill, quoth he. Nancy accused her of cheating on Jake. She assured Nancy she'd be ditching Neal to meet Jake before long. Exit Vic. Nancy phoned Dee and said they'd get proof tonight.
MJ and Catlin examined the church. MJ spied Vince.
Cass was put in the box in spite of his obsequious cries of "Sir — I won't do it again — please, not the box."
