Jake and Marley are madly in love. Marley wanted to comfort Victoria too but Jake advised her to leave her be for a bit.
Mac called Rachel to say the treasure had been recovered. Complacent Amanda said Neal would be glad and perhaps Fayez would call. A lot of stupefied Cory's.
Nancy and Chris were left alone at the treasure site together. She thought about finding the treasure and sex in the desert. She hesitantly broached the subject to him.
Zane was attacked by an ambulance. He's lost a lot of blood. Felicia is undone.
Michael was relieved to hear that no one had been hurt. He embraced Caruso and swung him around. He said he'd give anything to tell Victoria how he felt but how ironic, after all these years he's still the stablehand.
Marley and Jake are thrilled to be reunited. He was at pains to assure her that nothing had happened for all he was trapped alone in the dark with Victoria for days on end. She said she'd always trust him. He told her Victoria had been trying to steal something so he could get the Plains Motel. She said Vic still loved him. He put it down to exhibitionism and her desire to be of paramount importance in the life of anyone with whom she is tight. She doesn't think so. He changed the subject. He wants to marry her soon. Coming that close to death changed his mind. She is thrilled. She loves him. Nothing will get in their way.
The treasure doesn't remind Chris of Nancy, rather of his father. Larry told them and Mac about Zane and Neal. Great fed.
Amanda told them Neal had called Fayez the night he babysat. She was sent to bed. Ada thinks they should have a chat with Neal.
Nancy is impressed with Neal. So is everyone else, to a lesser degree. Mac suddenly got upset because Neal had placed his family in danger. Mac blames Zane's accident on Neal's screwed up priorities. Everyone wants to question Jake and Victoria. Chris told Nancy he'd call her tomorrow. Neal is hurt that Mac isn't proud of him. He and Nancy left together.
Felicia is upset. Doctor Pam is in charge. They may have to operate.
Marley and Jake departed leaving Bridget with numerous instructions to look after Victoria. Vic was listening and bitched to Bridget. Enter Peter. Exit Bridget. He convinced the police not to release her name and Jake's but Garbon is not dead. There's still danger of publicity. He said he knew she'd taken the jewels to help the family and he understood. Exit Victoria.
Nancy is impressed with Neal. She assured him Mac would change his mind in time. He doubts it. He is not interested in working for the FBI again. He wants Big Money. He and Nancy are going to celebrate the treasure recovery [big dreams and little bank accounts both].
Felicia spoke soothingly to an unconscious zane. He woke up and said in a weak voice "Felicia? I love you" before beeping like mad. She was ejected by a swarm of nurses and doctors. Pam told them he had B- a rare blood type. The bullet has fragmented and there's not enough blood in the area to be comfortable. Call Annie.
Victoria smashed around in the stables. Michael found her. Under his questioning she admitted that Jake and Marley get on her nerves. He told her when he was 18 he had lost the one person he loved but it wasn't the end, it was the beginning. Trite but true. She was rude to him and left.
Nancy was thrilled to hear about Marley's upcoming impending wedding. Marley is blissfully happy and certain Jake will always love her. Meanwhile Nancy's love life is over. A guy called Tim Bass, friend of Perry, called Nancy to ask her out. She refused. Nancy can't stand Chris treating her like an 8-year-old. She called Tim back and asked if he were still free.
The operation was a success. Zane needs more blood. Blood donating is down because people are afraid of getting AIDS. Silly really because it can't be gone by giving blood. They're going to check the records for other patients with be negative. They brought Fayez in on a stretcher. Felicia shook off her comforters and went to look at him. His leg may be broken. He was abominably rude [when she asked why he shot Zane he said "because I felt like it."] She had to be physically restrained. They led her out weeping.
Neal's on his way to Washington. He apologized to Mac for putting his family in danger. Mac said he admired his bravery but couldn't forgive the danger. He can never trust him again. Enter Rachel. Neal said he hoped Zane would be OK. Rachel told him she admired him. Exit Neal.
Vic yelled at Jake for telling Marley about her stealing the jewels. He denied it. When she accused him of wanting her imprisoned and out of the way he said he'd say he thought the activity in the mine looked suspicious and she followed him. She got strange. He said she was special to him.
Felicia is calm but she finds Fayez appalling. Wally &Dee assured her he'd suffer. Thomasina told them they'd found a donor. The hospital is trying to contact her now.
Victoria told Marley's photograph that she'd be so special to Jake he'd never marry her [Marley]. She smashed the glass of the frame.
Rachel's worried about Zane and Mac's attitude to Neal. Mac told her she should go out riding with Michael Hudson and Amanda. She said she wasn't certain about Michael. Mac assured her he'd met him and found him a very capable man and he was a good judge of character. She said he wasn't — take Neal. He kissed her and left for the office. Enter Michael. Rachel turned around and there was instant recognition. "Michael Garrison?" "Rachel?"
