ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 9, 1985

Nancy is not contemplating swimming to Omaha. She's going to see The Shrink today. Chris is reassuring.

Donna took fits. Victoria took fits. Jake got testy.

They're going to operate on Edouard. He had Gerhard find things about Zane.

Zane's looking forward to his trip with Felicia. He doesn't like the sound of her "oh, yeah, um..." She's started a book and she can't leave it. It's about Edouard. He blames the visualization. She told him it was helping her to close that chapter in her life.

Edouard wants to know how Fanny feels about Zane. Unfortunately it can't be researched

There was a great big fight about Marley which involved: Jake's admission that he'd forced her to let him tag along to look after her and his denial of having taken advantage of her, Donna insisting that he had taken advantage of her, Jake's conviction that she didn't have much faith in Marley [startling, really, considering he was the restraining force a lot of the time] and he was the only one who cared about her, and his exit in a huff. Victoria took Donna to task for bashing Jake and coming at all. Donna was suddenly stricken with the knowledge that Victoria had lived in that foul hole and redeemed herself by assuring her that she'd come for her sake and not Marley's. Donna's got a Philadelphia lawyer. She's going to get Vic off and take her home.

Daphne had an Egyptologist over. He stuffed himself with pastries and told her which thingies were fake and which were real. She got rid of him and took a photograph of ½ a pendant.

They're going to put Edouard under. He imagined finding Fanny as she is now and her telling him she wanted him always. "Fanny" he said.

Felicia in Smileys asked Zane if he'd called her name. He said not and she muttered of course he wouldn't call her that. THERE IS A STRANGE OLD WAITRESS. Zane and Felicia decided to have a picnic lunch tomorrow.

Jake returned after Donna had gone and had a bit of a row with Victoria. She told him she'd never felt like anything [There were bells in the hills but I never heard them ringing no I never heard them at all till there was you] until he came along. He said he wouldn't leave her now but she got upset when he wasn't receptive to her embrace. He started to shake her and yell "LISTEN TO ME" as Donna bounded in, lawyer in tow, commanding him to take his filthy hands off her. She wants a restraining order issued. Victoria told Donna Jake would be a help because he knew Ned. Donna said they were meeting Ned there to try to get him to drop the charges. Victoria convinced her to give her 15 minutes alone with Ned.

Marley's wildly annoyed with Donna. She's going to the Todds and then apartment hunting. Peter tried to talk to her but she won't listen.

Nancy's visit to The Shrink was not nearly as scary as she had anticipated. It revealed how much she loved her mother and felt pressure to be happy for her sake. She told Chris she didn't know what she'd do without him.

Ned: hi, honey. Who're you? Donna: I am not your honey. I am your severest critic. Vic: she's my sister Donna. Ned: sister? Donna: And [sounding as though she felt it was time she asserted herself again ] this is Mr Bedsoe, Victoria's attorney. Mr Bedsoe: hi. Donna: We'll be in the kitchen if you need us, darling. Vic: all right. Make yourself at home. Donna: I don't think that's possible. Exit Donna & Mr Bedsoe. Ned: Hey, Vic, you got a whole lot of new sisters. Vic: Yep. Ned: one day you say you got a twin, and now this one. Vic: well it's all true. Ned: you're starting to look like your old self again. Oh, that wasn't you that was here last week, was it? Vic: no it wasn't [beginning to imitate his accent ]. Ned: where's the other one? Vic: she went back to Bay City. Ned: that's a smart chick. Otherwise she could do your time for you, couldn't she? And that's a whole lot to ask, even for a sister. Vic: Ned, I'm not going to be doing any time. He said she was and guffawed heartily as he speculated on the possibility of Donna baking a cake with a hacksaw inside it.

Marley dissolved over the baby. You'd think Dee was his mother to hear her talk. They asked her about Jake. She said he'd likely be back tomorrow and nothing was going on. Jake called Carter to check about work and when he found out Marley was there asked to speak to her. He told her in melting tones that it was good to hear her voice again and she responded in cardboard tones "Is it?" He told her he missed her and he needed just one hour of her time tomorrow night. She said it wasn't possible and rang off. Jake could lose his job if he's back late. Dee mentioned she was moving in next door although the rent would be a pinch. Marley asked if she could move in with her.

Felicia and Zane unable to keep from thinking about each other decided to picnic to night instead. He has a brand new bed on the boat.

The doctor doesn't want Michaud upsetting Monsieur.

Chris returned Daphne's book and told her about the theft and the curse of the Falcon's head. "I feel sorry for the guy who stole it… he's probably in traction." Daphne nearly gave herself away as the teenage mistress by knowing about a long hidden kitchen stairway. Exit Chris. Daphne got up on a little stepladder to get a book from the shelves and fell down.

Marley's name was put on Dee's lease. The Todds were surprised. Marley said Donna didn't matter.

Donna offered Ned $2000 in return for dropping the charges. He refused.

Chris dashed back and helped Daphne up. He found the Falcon's head on the floor beside her and demanded to know where the rest of the stuff was.
