ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 4, 1988

Adam played piano while everyone stood around watching Rachel make notes. Jamie stood with his arm about Lisa. Adam looked lovely. Vicky arrived in a huge fur coat. Mac welcomed her gallantly. Lisa was more than surprised to hear Vicky was a bridesmaid.

Amanda admired her wedding dress. Ada dropped in to chat. She admitted she liked Sam.

Sam thought he'd misplaced the ring. Mitch produced it. Sam was nervous. Loretta dropped by.

Cass and Nicole rejoiced. Cass spotted a cave. Nicole wasn't thrilled. She didn't want to go in. She has a phobia. Cass led her inside. They found a trunk and dragged it out. It contained cans of food. The other one had torches and matches. They guessed they were leftover from WWII. The matches wouldn't light but Nicole found a couple of large batteries.

Lisa demanded an explanation. She seemed suspicious. Zack dropped off Julie Ann. He's bringing someone called Delia to the wedding. [That lawyer?] Rachel went up to fetch Amanda. Vicky chatted about the rehearsal dinner. She told Lisa she and Jamie had had such fun. Lisa verged on petulant.

Ada brushed Amanda's hair. She told her she had fallen over at her wedding. [Which one?] She had sneezed 8 times during the vows. Oh, this was Charlie. How recent. Rachel came in and gasped about the hairdresser and the florist. She made Ada phone for her. Amanda is fairly calm. Rachel got her to admit she was a little nervous.

Mitch left. Sam accused Loretta of ignoring her problems with Mitch. She said she loved both her sons. He produced the bracelet and told her she had to admit she was a kleptomaniac. She slapped him. He told her to return the bracelet. She asked how he could be so cruel and left. He decided he couldn't have the bracelet in his house.

Bananas. Spam. Coconuts. Cass has an idea for their rescue. They have to make noise.

Julie Ann's dress is white with a silver bodice. Amanda told her she was a wonderful friend. Lisa swirled in with the veil. Vicky came in to show herself off in Susan's dress. Lisa cattily suggested that it was a little tight in the waist. Vicky said she hadn't noticed. Amanda asked if it was her size. Vicky said it was a perfect size 4. [This is interesting only because of something I failed to note yesterday: Amanda said Susan was a size 8, I thought. Actually she said something along the lines of "where am I going to get another bridesmaid? I could advertise in the paper: bridesmaid wanted, must be size 8," which I took to mean that Susan and Vicky were eights.] Lisa suggested that it had been cut small. [Lisa, I was beginning to hope you were above this kind of thing.] The style of the dress is certainly suited to someone with less bosom, but Lisa's remarks are uncalled for.

Sam dashed into a jewelry store and bellowed for help. When no one appeared he tried to replace the bracelet himself but another customer spotted him with his hand in the case and set up a scream that summoned a security guard. When the security guard tried to detain him Sam punched him out and was instantly consumed by remorse. A police officer arrived and pointed a gun at him. Sam is under arrest.

Mac told Loretta how wonderful she looked. Adam dashed in in his lovely tuxedo and suggested Loretta ride with him. She looked apprehensive but couldn't think of an excuse to refuse. Mac went off in search of Rachel. Adam assured Loretta they could forget about the shoplifting incident. They collected Jamie on the way out. As the bridesmaids came downstairs Vicky said she was usually a jinx on weddings and she hoped nothing would go wrong. Lisa [with a certain viciousness in her voice] assured her that she and Julie Ann had voodooed her so it wouldn't happen. Mac and Ada were close behind, feeling old. Rachel and Amanda appeared. Rachel and Ada left Mac and Amanda alone. I don't like her dress [ed modern note: especially actually her headpiece]. Amanda assured Mac she'd be happy. Mac was nice. They left.

Sam rotted in jail at top volume. Nobody much cared.

Cass and Nicole ate bananas and spam. Nicole hooked up a radio somehow [she used to do it as a child, take apart and reassemble radios] and sent out an SOS signal. Cass was surprised and delighted. They drank from coconut shells and toasted each other and their flight home. Nicole admitted she liked being stranded alone with Cass. He proposed a swim. In the nude. They kissed.

Rachel's dress is white with gold sleeves. Mac got anxious when no one could find Sam. Amanda asked Jamie where Sam was. He admitted nobody knew.

Sam yelled about his wedding.

Cass lit torches while Nicole swam. He kissed her and stripped. She stared. He slipped into the water. They embraced. He said he wished they could stay like that forever. Fully clothed again they sat by the pond [or "lagoon," if you prefer]. Cass said he thought they hadn't died because they were meant to be together. Blech. He kissed her. She fell over. He got an idea and vanished into the shrubbery. Nicole gazed at her reflection and wondered if Cass had saved her or Kathleen.

The wedding party fretted. Loretta said Sam had argued with her. Adam said he'd checked hospitals and things but no sign of Sam. Mitch said Sam's landlord had seen Sam rushing off in his jeans and when he'd asked where Sam was going Sam had said Chicago. Mac put it down to Sam's basic selfishness. Loretta blamed their argument. Mac said they'd have to make an announcement.

Sam was declared free to go. He'll discuss court dates later.

Cass used a lot of material to make a bed and scattered petals on it. He noticed Nicole was missing. She didn't answer when he called her name.

Amanda was upset. She insisted Sam loved her and wouldn't stand her up. When Rachel didn't say she entirely agreed with her Amanda threw her out of her room and slammed the door. Amanda burst into tears.

Sam arrived at the church too late. The minister told him everyone had gone home. Sam told him to stay open until he returned. He grabbed a bouquet of flowers and set off determinedly.
