Ada knows Nancy is hiding from her. Rachel is trying to calm her down.
Mac found Nancy in the stables.
Brittany is canceling weird Love expenditures right and left. She's sending that one. Enter Donna. She doesn't like the idea of supermarkets although Bridget didn't object. Donna told Brittany the honeymoon was over and there were some things they needed to get clear. Brittany agreed and said they might as well start with WHO WAS RUNNING THE HOUSE.
Kathleen's doing fine. Wallingford asked Cass if he could do a good deed. Cass was wary. He has to get Kathleen's ring. He wants to sneak in and see Kathleen. Wally told him he'd have to get cleaned up and shaved. He is as the deaf adder to Wallingford's pleas.
Nancy asked to borrow some money. Mac told her Ada wouldn't allow it. Nancy despaired.
Donna expressed surprise that Brittany was so soon in maternity clothes. Britt said some women showed earlier than others. Donna was bitchy. Brittany was "crude beyond imagination." She goaded Donna into screaming "you little SLUT" [by referring to her as an old maid with a couple of bastard twins. Come, come, Donna is a divorcée. Let's get our facts straight] just as Peter came in. She flew into his arms crying "Peter, Peter, she's hurting me. My baby." Brittany went up with a headache. Donna protested her innocence and agreed with Peter that Britt oughtn't to be upset. He told her he approved the budget but conceded that Donna should be allowed to choose the wine herself. She asked when the baby was due. He said it was their New Year's Eve baby. Exit Peter. Donna found out from Bridget that Britt's obstetrician was somebody at her hospital. Goody.
Rachel refused to interfere on Nancy's behalf. Nancy got upset. She said all she wanted was the freedom Rachel had had. Enter Ada. "Since when are you 22?"
Wally explained Jake's plight. Cass felt bad but said he couldn't help. Wallingford reminded him Jake was Kathleen's cousin. He told him there was a poker game. Enter Carter. Wally gave him $250 for a pair of glasses to cheat at poker with. He wants Cass to play for them and pretend he'd won a California lottery. Cass put his foot down. No suicide mission.
Cass went to the jeweler's and picked out a marquis diamond. It's expensive. $12,000 plus tax. Wally caught up with him. Cass has no credit rating there so it's cash only. He asked Wally if he could lend him $12,000. Wally said he didn't have it but he knew where he could get it. Cass refused to play rigged poker with loan sharks.
Donna enlisted the aid of some hospital guy to gain access to Brittany's records.
Ada brandished Nancy's fake ID. Rachel left. Nancy was forced to admit she'd had a few drinks. Ada yelled at her. She told her she was a minor. She yelled a lot. She fell silent in mid-sentence. Nancy screamed for Rachel. The doctor was summoned. Nancy wept and blamed herself.
Peter adores Brittany. She told him she wanted to get along with Donna but she was afraid Donna would kill her. He told her he wouldn't let anyone hurt her. She said she was afraid to be alone in the house with her. Peter's going to Chicago.
Donna blackmailed Dr. Longo into getting Brittany's records for her. Apparently some records conveniently vanished during a malpractice suit and she wants the favour returned.
Cass met Father Molloy at the hospital to reserve the church for sometime in May. Vince tried to object but Father Malloy told Cass to hang tough. Wally tried to get Cass to reconsider playing poker to help Jake and get the ring. Carter gave Wally the glasses and marked cards. Cass' protests went unheeded. MJ appeared and said she was worried about Jake. Everyone said he'd gone to Chicago with the beloved. She accepted it and wandered off. Wallingford resumed trying to convince Cass he'd love to see Tony the Tuna lose money while he won money to save Jake and buy Kathleen's ring. It was tempting.
Ada has been forbidden to rant and rave. She comforted Nancy. Nancy confessed she was afraid the police would find out.
Donna found out that Brittany had been discovered to be pregnant on November 22nd. New Year's Eve baby? Ho ho.
Nancy listed her known sins [leaving out the Longo accident] and mentioned Rachel. Ada asked about the police. Nancy confessed she'd been driving the car that hit Mrs. Longo. Ada was upset. Nancy got hysterical and said she deserved to be hated.
Wallingford ascertained that Felicia and Zane would be driving to the hospital in separate cars.
MJ told Cass the sight of the ring would mellow Vince. Wallingford asked Cass for his answer. Cass said if he had the kind of money it would take to get into a high stakes poker game he'd have enough to get the ring and bail Jake out. Wallingford showed him the money. $30,000.
Donna asked Bridget to send Brittany to her.
Ada and Nancy are a loving mother and daughter. Ada blames herself for having brought Nancy up wrong. Living with Mac and Rachel makes it worse. Ada decided they'd move into their own place.
The money is counterfeit. Cass told Wallingford he was insane.
