ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 1, 1987

Chad dropped by the McKinnon house to arrange a business dinner with Cheryl. She told him she felt a little funny about keeping Brandy Pandy. He said they'd talk later and dashed out. MJ passed him on the way in. When she saw Brandy Pandy she asked Cheryl why Chad had given it her.

Peter invited Peggy to a very small party in their new pied à terre, their home away from home. It looked a little basement to me.

Vince listened to the radio. Vince: Ada, do you remember that? Ada: Nope. Vince: [singing] do you wanna dance — Ada: now I REALLY don't know what it is. Bobby LaRocca came on the radio and said he would be DJ for 50s night at the Powerhouse. Vince was transported with delight. He told Mary they had danced to his DJing. She didn't remember. The Powerhouse is that old. He suggested they go dancing. They went to the Powerhouse for their first date. She agreed to go.

MJ yelled at Cheryl when she said she didn't know. She said Chad always started out like this. Cheryl didn't get it for a bit. Then she accused her of talking about herself. MJ denied it vehemently. Cheryl accused her of having been lovers with Chad. MJ denied it. Cheryl said Chad had been in love with her. MJ told her she hadn't loved him and he had been hurt and so he was using her [Cheryl]. She said there was no reason to tell Adam. She refused to tell her what Chad was capable of, although she assured her she [Cheryl] couldn't handle it. She did admit she didn't think Chad was Greg[i mean the as-yet-unidentified serial killer]. She asked her to stay away from him. Cheryl brought up her career. She said she'd give back the bear straightaway. Exit Cheryl. MJ phoned Chad and gave him what for. She threatened to tell Cheryl he was a SLEAZY PIMP.

Peter: I think we're a perfectly balanced couple, don't you? Peggy: no. Peter: what's missing? Peggy: PROTEIN. She demanded sustenance. Their phone hasn't been installed yet. She sent him out for Chinese food. He made her promise not to dress. Exit Peter. That Old Carrot dropped by.

The Powerhouse looked different to Vince. Bobby LaRocca recognized them. He greeted Vince, drawing attention to his ugly face. Vince told Mary about their teenage years. They ran into their friends Stuart and Susie. Mary was homecoming queen.

Zack is sleeping on Quinn's couch and clamouring to be allowed into the actual bedroom. She's not exactly screaming her head off at the prospect.

Cheryl told Chad she thought they should call the whole thing off.

That Old Carrot told Peggy he was looking for Peter. He made remarks. She went to dress. They discussed her career. She said she worked all the time. He asked about what she was doing now this minute. She said, "like I said, I work all the time." Peter returned, heavily laden. His father was a surprise. He ordered him out. Reginald said he had something to say.

Susie seems bitter. In junior high she and Vince were practically going steady until Mary set her cap at him. Susie was hard hit at the time. Mary called Vince a brute. Susie and Stuart are happy now. Delirious. Stuart teaches psych at the university. Vince and Mary were the Lindy king and queen of 1959.

Cheryl told Chad she didn't want to be used. She told him what MJ had said. He assured her MJ was merely deluded about the never having recovered part. He said he believed in her and he'd talked to MJ. He said he was ticked off about being a suspect. When asked Cheryl said she and MJ didn't think he was the killer and she didn't know what Adam thought. He said he thought Adam was jealous.

Vince reminisced. He changed the subject when Mary asked Stuart about his teaching. Why Do Fools Fall in Love? Dancing.

Carrot: can't we put the past behind us? Peter: I can't believe I'm hearing this. Carrot: is it that impossible? Peter: well, not for you, obviously. It seems to be your favorite hobby lately, putting the past behind you. Carrot: I've been very hard on you, Peter. Peter: aw, dad. Dad, hey, don't beat up on yourself. I mean, so you've been a little hard on me, So what? What are fathers for, if not to undermine their children's development, shatter their egos. Reginald was given permission to say what he had to say. He told him he had potential but needed guidance and they should work together. Peter hesitated and agreed to be partners. Exit Reginald. Peggy was delighted for Peter. Peter said he was ecstatic. He was too knotted to eat. He doesn't believe his father is sincere. He said he was going to take advantage of the situation. She offered any help he needed. He told her to promise to stay away from his father. She said it was part of their arrangement that she be allowed to meet people like Reginald. Peter was a little surprised to learn it was that sort of arrangement, I think.

Chad told MJ they could go to jail if Linda's book wasn't destroyed. She said she had taken her name out. He didn't believe her. She told him she'd use the book if she had to. He warned her not to make him do something he'd regret.

Vince and Mary returned to Mary's Place and sent Ada home. [Say goodnight, Ada. Goodnight, Ada.] Mary said she'd had a good time and she wanted to call Stuart to ask about getting her degree. She made Vince tell her why Stuart said he owed Vince his PhD. There was a race. A scholarship hung on which won. Mary guessed that Vince had thrown the race for Stuart. He admitted it. He said Stuart had been more deserving of college. She was impressed. He said he had no regrets. He had wanted only Mary. No college.

Zack and Quinn discussed the possibility of their driving to California together to see the children. [That actually happened a couple of scenes ago, but it slipped my mind, it was so unmemorable.]
