In late Fall 1991 an octopus caused panic among miners who had found the creature in the Viloco Mining Center acqueducts in Bolivia © 4,200 meters above sea level. The octopus, which measured 60 centimeters, didn't live long after being found; the frightened miners swiftly stoned it to death. It was then whisked off to the State University of La Paz, and nothing on its status has been heard yet...
