Tournament History

David Cohen, a FIDE International Arbiter, has designed, organized or directed the
1984 Canadian Open Championship won by Denis Allan, Brett Campbell, Igor Ivanov, Dave Ross;
1984 Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Championship;
1986 Canadian Cadet (Under-16) Championship;
1987 Canadian Cadet (Under-16) Championship won by Alexandre Lesiege;

plus the following tournaments (#1-7,21 with Mark S. Dutton and #8-20,22 with Vlad Dobrich). All but #1, #16, #18, #20-22 were round robins; all but #22 were aimed at matching masters and aspiring juniors.

Fundraiser - The Hospital for Sick Children

David Cohen has organized simultaneous exhibitions to benefit the SickKids Foundation in support of The Hospital for Sick Children.

1st 2003 - Kevork Hacat (9 players: +6 =1 -2; $63)
2nd 2004 - Zhe Quan (13 players on 12 boards with one replacement: +13 =0 -0; $130)
3rd 2004 - Shiyam Thavandiran (20 players on 18 boards with two replacements, 17 players played a second game: +37 =0 -0; $200 from players plus $160 from well-wishers, total $360)
4th 2005 - Jonathan Tayar (7 players on 6 boards, 5 players played a second game: +12 =0 -0; $70)
