I would like to introduce myself. My name is Robert Vaughan, I am a blacksmith and I have been presenting special heritage programs in the Eastern Ontario region and beyond for over ten years. I would like to offer you the opportunity to bring my heritage blacksmith program entitled Hear the Anvil Ring to your event.
Hear the Anvil Ring will demonstrate by actual use many of the fascinating components of an old time blacksmith shop, from the roaring bellows and fire to the special vise used in the smithy. The sights, sounds and smells of a working blacksmith shop are recreated and will allow your visitors to understand the special appeal that the blacksmith shop had in days gone by.
The presentation is suitable for any outdoor event where our heritage is featured. My program can be tailored to make your event a memorable one. (As an example: For your grand opening ceremony I can produce a steel ribbon, complete with bow. Instead of using scissors the VIP wields an eight pound sledgehammer, cutting the red hot ribbon on the anvil in a single blow) I am happy to discuss any plans or ideas that you may have.
Hear the Anvil Ring has been a very popular presentation at museums, historic sites, fairs, festivals, craft shows and special events since 1994. Here's what people have said in their letters to me:
"your presentation was both educational and entertaining"
"he caught our interest by hook and nail, fashioning them out of steel forged in his sizzling coal fire"
"you can bet you've won converts for museums/historic sites wherever those families find them"
"The professionalism you showed in managing the crowd and encouraging donations was terrific."
"I liked watching the blacksmith. He made us a metal hook. We put it on the science table at school."
As a professional demonstrator I am aware of the constraints placed on our museums and non-profit organizations today. My rates are affordable for even the smallest group and are competitive with other attractions.
Thousands of people have enjoyed Hear the Anvil Ring. Book now for your events during 2006. If you would like more information please contact me a 613-730-1721 or at blacksmith@ncf.ca.
I look forward to seeing you this summer.
Yours sincerely
Robert L. Vaughan
