The 10 acre Park is located at 45.00°N 75.22°W on Baldwin Road in Mountain Township, west of Winchester Springs on the main channel of the South Nation River.
The site is owned by South Nation Conservation (SNC). The east part of the site was planted with pine trees by SNC, and under planted with black walnuts and other hardwoods by Irene Woolford Broad and other volunteers.
The west half of the site is planted with oak trees, nut pines, ginkgo, hickories and other related species. It contains one of Ontario's butternut archives that test for resistance to butternut canker. There are over 25 species of nut trees and shrubs planted on the site.
The Pioneer Homesteads Project recognizes settler families with plaques that are mounted on glacial boulders and on plinths in front of trees.
New volunteers are always welcome. The site is open from dawn to dusk from May 1st to October 15.
The Park also receives support from Human Resources and Development Canada, the Forest Gene Conservation Association, Oak Foundation, Lions Club, Canadian Legion, National Defence, Fish and Game Clubs and SD&G Land Stewardship Council.
