Sustainabilty Coaching

Despite, or perhaps because of, the incredible amount of information available knowing what you want, finding what you need, and putting it all together can be overwhelming.

Often, what you need is available, but what options does the marketplace provide and where can you find these?  Are there options beyond the marketplace to satisfy your requirements, such as different decisions, lifestyle changes and outside-the-box choices?  What are leading thinkers, researchers and practitioners doing in these areas, and how might this affect the future of todays choices?  What exactly are the processes, products, services or options called? How do you find something if you don’t know what it is called, what it is all about, or even if it’s available?  When you do find them, how should they be compared to provide you with the best overall advice on the choice(s) you are about to make?

We can help answer these and other questions you might have about making more sustainable and healthy choices.

Whether you would like to reduce your energy bills, find a way to do something in a more environmentally, healthy, or socially responsible manner, better understand your options and the impacts of the choices you make, understand what’s happening in the world today, or how all your decisions and choices fit together, we can help.

We provide essential information on decision making through our extensive network of global contacts and informational resources, research skills, and keeping our fingers on the pulse of the world in areas of health, environment and sustainability.  We constantly evaluate and revise our understandings of the world, how effects and choices manifest throughout our social and natural environments, and what this all means for you.  Refer to our related web pages for information on our areas of expertise and interests.

Some of these include:
- housing, indoor air quality, energy consumption, new technologies and building techniques;
- urban planning and design, and the built environment;
- agricultural practices and technologies, food choices and their potential impacts and consequences;
- transportation mobility and access choices and trends;
- health, well being and quality of life, health promotion and disease prevention, active and healthy living, and the social determinants of health;
- debt, health and the environment
- lifestyle planning and managing;
- 3 R's - reduction (budgeting and planning, lifestyle choices, voluntary simplicity, etc.), reuse (freecycling, gifting, local dollars, LETS, etc.) and recycling

We generally don’t consider ourselves experts in each of these areas.  What we do is connect you with options, clarify your possible choices, and provide you with information that will enable you to better understand your choices and, ultimately, make the best decisions possible.

How the process works

We first need to understand what you need.  This may involve looking at the why’s and how’s of what you wish to do.
Once we understand what you need, we do our work.  We will keep in close contact to answer new questions as they arise, and better understand specific directions you wish to take.  Along the way, we are able to provide information on what you should or might expect, and other options available.
In some cases, this may take a metter of minutes, in other, weeks.
After we’ve identified your needs and available options, we discuss these with you and what the different choices mean.
If you want, we can follow through and make certain arrangements, choices, and identify the next steps to help your decisions.
