Windows Icons

To use an icon for displaying for a particular Files Type in Win Explorer, just copy it to an image folder on your hard drive and follow these steps:

Windows EXPLORER > Tools > Folders > File Types
Click on the Advanced* button.
Click on Change iconand locate your saved ICO file.
Click OK, and OK again.

* The Advanced button will not show if you have changed a file association. You will need to "Restore" first.

More Icons

If you click Change Icon, and there are no icons available, use the Browse button to find moricons.dll. For even more, click Browse and type %systemroot%\system32\shell32.dll.

In the File name box, click Open. If you find an icon you want to use, select it and click OK, and then click OK again.
